One transparent video. More ways to use it.

Different footage creates different edge challenges. Choose the workflow that best matches your video.

Product video

For product and marketplace video: a phone or camera clip of the item on a table, in a hand, or on a turntable. What comes back is the product on nothing, so one take can sit on a white product-page background, on a lifestyle photograph, and in a paid social cut without a reshoot. Watch the surface underneath — a dark product on a dark table gives the matte very little to separate, and glass or acrylic packaging stays hard. Product video background removal in detail.

Social content

For creators and explainer video: talking head, tutorial segments shot at a desk, voice-over across a screen recording. The transparent take drops over a slide, a screencast or a game capture, and the same recording can be repositioned per platform instead of being re-framed at record time. Watch for standing too close to the wall behind you, and for hair against a bright window, where backlight and background merge into each other. Creator and social workflows in detail.

Agency delivery

For agencies delivering more than one cut from a shoot, often against client backgrounds that arrive after the edit has started. Transparent masters stop the version count multiplying the shoot count: composite late, swap the background per market or per placement, and keep the performance identical across all of them. Watch for lighting that changes between setups in the same batch — a matte that holds on one setup is not a promise about the next. Agency delivery in detail.

Which workflow fits your video?

Choose by what you intend to do with the result, not by the industry you work in.

You are selling a physical object
Product video. You want one take that can be reused on a product page, in an ad and in a marketplace listing without shooting it three times.
You are talking to camera, or over a screen
Creators. You want yourself as a layer you can place anywhere in the frame, over whatever the platform of the week wants behind you.
You are delivering the same edit more than twice
Agencies. You want transparent masters and a background chosen per version, so a late change costs one composite rather than one re-export each.

Why the transparent file is the deliverable

All three are the same underlying move: keep the alpha channel and decide the background later. A transparent master can be laid on a new colour, a new photograph or a new aspect ratio without going back to the source and processing it a second time — which is the whole reason the output is worth more than a clip that already has a replacement background baked into it.
