1. Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of bgremove.video (“we”, “us”, “BGRemove”). They apply whenever you access bgremove.video or use the service.
By signing in you accept these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company.
2. What the service does
BGRemove accepts video you upload, processes it to separate the foreground subject from the background, and returns a video file containing an alpha channel.
We do not guarantee any particular quality of result. Matting quality depends on your source footage, and there are categories of footage the service handles poorly. These are described on our homepage and in our FAQ. Results depend on the source footage. Review generated output before relying on it in a production workflow.
3. Your account
You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for anything done through your account, and for keeping access to your Google account secure.
One account is for one person or one organisation. You may not share credentials to circumvent 24-hour usage limits.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy. Where the breach is not deliberate and not harmful, we will contact you first.
4. Your content
You keep every right you have in the video you upload. We claim no ownership of your footage or of the output we produce from it.
You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit your content strictly for the purpose of providing the service to you. That licence ends when the content is deleted.
We do not use your content to train models, ours or anyone else’s, and our processing provider is contractually barred from doing so.
You are responsible for having the rights to the footage you upload. This includes the rights of anyone appearing in it. Do not upload footage you do not have permission to process.
5. Free access and 24-hour allowance
BGRemove is currently free to use. There is no subscription, credit pack, checkout or paid upgrade, and no payment is taken.
Each signed-in account receives an allowance within a 24 hour window rather than a calendar day.
- Jobs that fail do not consume the allowance. If a failure occurs after processing began, it is credited back automatically.
- When the allowance is exhausted, uploads stop until the window ends, at which point the full allowance is restored.
- Nothing is charged at any point, because there is nothing to charge for.
We may change the size of the allowance, and we may introduce paid plans in future. Material changes are handled as described below.
6. Ending your use of the service
You may stop using BGRemove at any time, and you may delete your account and every file belonging to it from your account page. There is no subscription to cancel and no notice period.
7. File retention
Uploaded footage and generated transparent output are retained for 24 hours, then deleted. You may delete files sooner from your library.
Retention is not backup. Download anything you need to keep.
8. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service. Processing runs through a third-party provider, and their outages become ours.
We may perform maintenance, and will give notice for anything planned that affects availability.
9. Acceptable use
Use of the service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary: do not process footage you have no right to, do not use the service to produce non-consensual, deceptive or unlawful material, and do not attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.
10. Intellectual property
The service, its interface, code and branding belong to us. These terms grant you the right to use the service, not any right in it.
Output files generated from your footage are yours.
11. Warranties and liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to USD 100.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost revenue, lost data, or the cost of a reshoot.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from footage you uploaded, including claims that you lacked the rights to it or that its processing infringed someone’s rights.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in-product at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date means acceptance.
The date at the top of this page reflects the last substantive revision.
14. Governing law
If you are a consumer, you retain the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts.
