Cookie Policy

We set one cookie. This page explains it, which takes less time than a consent banner would.

Consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary: analytics, advertising, personalisation, tracking.

We do not set any of those. The single cookie we use is required to keep you signed in, which falls under the strictly-necessary exemption in the ePrivacy Directive and equivalent rules. There is nothing to opt into, so there is no banner.

HttpOnly means JavaScript cannot read it, which limits the damage a cross-site scripting flaw could do. Secure means it is only ever sent over HTTPS. SameSite=Lax limits it being sent from other sites.

What we do not set

  • No analytics cookies. There is no Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom or equivalent on this site.
  • No advertising cookies or conversion pixels.
  • No third-party trackers of any kind.
  • No fingerprinting or local-storage substitutes for cookies.

The marketing pages are static files. They do not identify you and they do not phone home.

During sign-in

Google may set its own cookies on their domains during the OAuth exchange. Those are governed by Google’s privacy policy, not by us, and we cannot read them.

Refusing it

You can block cookies in your browser. Blocking bgr_session means you cannot stay signed in, so the workspace will not function. The marketing pages, including this one, work perfectly without it.

To clear it, sign out, or delete site data for bgremove.video in your browser settings.

Changes

If we ever add a cookie beyond this one, this page will be updated first and, where consent is required, a proper consent mechanism will be in place before the cookie is set. It will not be added quietly.
